Scheduling an Appointment

Appointment Reminder SMS
Once registered in our patient medical record (CuraMed) and with your mobile phone number, you will automatically receive an SMS message 24 hours before your next appointment.

Canceling an Appointment
In case of inability to attend, you can cancel your appointment by contacting your therapist (contact sheet link). For any missed appointment without a valid excuse at least 48 hours in advance, the full consultation fee will be charged.

2.- Consultation

How Long Does a Session Last?
A psychotherapy session typically lasts around 40 to 60 minutes. A solely psychiatric session (primarily medication management) lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Can I Bring Someone with Me to a Session?
It is possible to bring another person to a session. If the situation permits, we encourage you to discuss this with your therapist beforehand.

3.- Insurance

Health Insurance
Our services may be covered by LAMal (Federal Health Insurance Act) or private insurance, depending on your contractual conditions. We accept payments by credit card.

I am a foreigner and do not have basic insurance (LAMal). Can I still benefit from your services?
You can benefit from our services just like a beneficiary of Swiss LAMal insurance. However, you will be responsible for paying the consultation fees after the session. We will provide you with an invoice for your insurance.

Are Psychologists Covered by LAMal?
Since July 1, 2022, psychotherapies provided by psychologist-psychotherapists may be reimbursed by basic health insurance (LAMal) upon medical prescription, issued by a first-contact physician: a specialist in internal medicine, pediatrician, or by a psychiatrist-psychotherapist, child psychiatrist-psychotherapist, or specialist in psychosomatic medicine. It is imperative that you have this medical prescription at the first consultation with the psychologist, otherwise, the session will not be reimbursed by your insurance.

4.- Protection of Personal Data (LPD)

What are Personal Data?
In order to create the medical record for each patient of the Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Consultation Synapsis, certain personal data is collected. In accordance with Chapter 2 of the Federal Data Protection Act (LPD), updated on September 1, 2023, and applicable to the Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Consultation Synapsis, "personal data" includes all administrative information that allows the identification of a natural person (contact details, date of birth, etc.). Additionally, "health data" corresponds to the information collected during an outpatient medical consultation. It includes your medical (treatments, medical history, test results, etc.), psychological (mental health), and physical (height, weight, etc.) data. These data are considered sensitive and are therefore subject to enhanced protection.

How Are My Personal Data Stored?
The personal data of our patients are stored in their medical records. All services with specific and secure access to this data are subject to medical confidentiality. In accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act (LPD), the Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Consultation Synapsis ensures the security, confidentiality, and traceability of each access to the data, including any modification or new data entry.

Can I Access My Medical Record?
Your medical record belongs to you. Every physician and psychologist is obligated to keep it for 20 years. The medical record includes all information related to your treatment, analyses, reports, correspondence, etc. It is a file according to data protection law. According to the access rights provided by this law, you can request information about your data at any time, whether your record is archived or not. However, your request must be made in writing and accompanied by a copy of your identification document. Upon receipt, your therapist will send you a copy of the requested documents.
